Allow Google ads to track conversions for more effective ad spend and conversion tracking without the need to setup Google Tag manager via custom CSS.
Tip for anyone looking to do this while waiting for the feature:
It is technically possible to track conversions without custom CSS by setting up a custom key event on Google Analytics on page load where the url includes /order/. You can then set up Google Analytics to be sending this data to Google Ads.
However, it will fire several times whenever a customer refreshes the order confirmation page and will cause Google to overcalculate the number of conversions. This is still better than not tracking the conversions at all for the sake of optimising ad spend - although a full feature release in future would make the process much easier to set up and hopefully more accurate.
