Allow for restaurant user to place in restaurant/phone orders into the system with reference for name/table number.

Any idea when this will be ready? I have a client that primarily wants to use the system just for staff ordering so this will be a deal breaker.
What is the benefit for the restaurant owner regarding this features?
He wants to limit his staff from going back and forth to the kitchen and the WiFi in the dining area isn’t very good as it’s a pub built in the 1600s. So his staff will place the order at the bar and the kitchen will automatically get the docket on order creation. I’ve also got another client that is placing orders online on behalf of their customers (I don’t know why but they just like to work this way).
When will this be ready please? We receive phone orders and have to write them onto paper and take payment using another device. It would be easier during service if we could enter the customer’s order and process their payment using the website ordering system. When the order has been successfully paid, we can then print a receipt and give to the kitchen to make up the order and progress the order through the statuses the same as other orders. It will save a lot of time and also helps with reporting as everything is in one place.
We have initial version completed. We have to test, revise and go through QA before release. Likely live before April.
In regard to restaurant ordering: it would make sense to keep the order alive as long as the guest didn’t push for payment. Unlike takeout, during dine-in the guest usually keeps ordering food in different stages: first drinks, appetizer, main and dessert at last. Therefore after the user has completed the first round of ordering, he shouldn’t be forced to do a payment checkout; instead the payment is on hold and he can continue adding new items to the same Order or process Paymemt if he is ready to leave the restaurant.
any update on this?
