Future Orders - reminder or hold for printer#274

Some restaurants get a huge number of preorders daily and if they don’t manage their orders with the dashboard because they are too busy and instead they auto confirm everything it’s difficult to keep track of the orders. If the system could resend a 2nd auto print copy of the order as a reminder before the actual time that would them to not have to manually organize everything. The printer would just shoot out the order maybe 10 minutes plus the prep time before the order is due with a banner at the top that says reminder. Or the other option would be to hold the order in the system until it’s prep time and print then.

I have mixed views on this… without an initial printing then the stock could be forgetten to be topped up to accommodate for it, but on the other hand is that 2 copies of the same docket could cause confusion.
Having switches that enable either way will help an operator to decide how to manage either their stock or the reprints, as the case may be.

I agree that not printing the original might cause issues. However sending a reminder that says reminder at the top of the printout would be incredibly helpful. When people get 20 or 30 preorders a day it’s almost impossible to keep track when not using the dashboard. If it was possible to have a setting to auto reprint any order 60 or 90 minutes ahead of time that clearly had a reprint banner on top of it this would help organize kitchens tremendously.

We think that printing as a ‘PRE-ORDER’ and a ‘RE-PRINT’ is a sensible solution.

That’s awesome. We had a banner on all future orders on the other platform. Our customers loved it because mistakes were never made for making food ahead of time. The reminder was also amazing because people would throw away the original receipt if they were not able to manually work and instead would use the reminder at the time the order needed to be prepared. Thank you for this. It’s a great feature and restaurants will love it.

Currently the print function can only set Auto Print or disable auto print.

It will be great if the print function can set Auto Print when confirmed order(Due Soon).

Default printing template is now updated with Due being a bold and highlighted field at the top of the docket.

REPRINT feature is also live and prints ‘REPRINT’ at the top of the docket.
