Make it Mandatory for the customer to enter a House Number when Delivery selected#264

H

Some customers do not enter their house number so when our drivers deliver, they do not know which house to deliver to. This creates a delay in our service as we then have to call the customer to find out.

What if they don’t have a house number?

No idea but how will the deliver driver know which house to go to. If not mandatory then maybe a better prompt to the customer to enter it or a link to the postal address file so that the property can be selected from a list….I am sure there are many ways to make this more accurate

I think i may have an answer for this…. from my time with Dominos…. all new delivieries (new accounts, change of phone number, change of address) were flagged that a service operator was required to do a confirmation call and ensure that: the name/number/address is correct, and also there was an option to for the operator to add in their own notes that were printed on the receipt so the driver had clear instructions to facilitate the delivery eg. “Halfway down the road, on north side, entry near barn with yellow post in front, drive to house, beware the dog”.

So perhaps adding a feature that noted a change of detail and flagged the order to be confirmed (and notes added) before it is printed.

Saving delivery notes against the customer record sounds like a sensible option. If all else fails, someone can call the customer.
