Precision for taxes with 3 decimal places#252

The New Jersey (NJ) state sales tax rate is 6.625%. I entered as such in the program. From the export of data, It appears that CloudWaitress rounded the tax rate to 6.63% which means we are over charging the customer and is illegal. Can this be corrected ASAP?

Hi there, thanks for raising this concern.

US currency has a precision of 2 and NJ tax will need a precision of 3.

You are correct that the precision accuracy should be increased for NJ tax.

The actual scenario you have used here doesn’t reflect the precision accuracy for NJ tax. The net result is not overcharging, actually the opposite. However, you cannot see this due to the US currency precision and rounding.

We will change the precision for NJ tax ASAP.
